I'm loth to line their pockets if they've made a complete balls-up of this. Now down to £1.79 / $2.99 etc.

Wha, wha, whaat? 4-player Chu Chu Rocket is one of the most fun multi-player experiences I've ever had. Only SMB Monkey Target comes close. Admittedly the online mode was hampered by Sega's shitty ISP service and random matchmaking but broadband and friend lists should go someway to improving that. Not including that, being stingy with the puzzles and a relatively high price point change it from being an instant-buy to a wait-and-see for me. Although if you own an iPad and at least one friend then you're a nutter if you don't buy it. “Chu Chu Rocket’s “main” game – the multiplayer battle mode – was a bit average.”

The GBA also had multi-player but obviously it was more difficult to get going. Other than that I 'm not surprised SEGA have done a piss poor job with this - it seems to be a habit for them. I don't understand why Sega cheaps out with their iOS ports, when they obviously take the platform pretty seriously considering how much attention they give it. I was excited to hear this game was actually going to have touch controls instead of a crummy on-screen d-pad, but to axe content while selling the game at a premium $4.99 (yes, App Store pricing model broken, etc. another discussion) just sucks. Since they started developing for iPhone I've wanted to see ARCADE ports of Outrun and Space Harrier with proper iOS control implementation. Now I hope they never do it because they'll surely screw it up some other way. Great unbiased review.
