Pop till you drop

In November, I got all excited about Bubble Pets, a spiffy Whac-a-Mole game with cute pixelated graphics, relentless challenges and a generally demented feel. Then the dev capitulated to idiots, doubling the number of lives and turning a lovely, tough game into a chore. He mentioned in the comments, here on Podgamer, that an update was imminent and it’s now arrived, bundling in universal support for the iPad (which works brilliantly).
There’s also a new Christmas theme.
This dresses the pets in odd Christmas garb, winters up the background, and has snow slightly obscure the screen, making the game tougher. Minus a few points for the snow not matching the pixel graphics elsewhere. BUT:
