Podgamer and Privacy
Podgamer and the Podgamer staff are super and lovely and would never misuse, sell, expose or belittle any personal information you volunteered to us.
We have no idea why you would volunteer personal information to Podgamer. Okay, WordPress insists on an e-mail address when you post a comment, but you can just use a false one — some made-up name or other @example.com, for instance, which is set up exactly for that type of demonstration. WordPress comments also save your IP, which we can see and nod over as if it meant something.
If you swap your font style (“change your viewing experience”) we set a cookie to remember which one you hated the least. WordPress may or may not cookie you by itself, as it does on every site where WordPress is present. We have no idea what those cookies are. Time zone bits, maybe.
You can see which WordPress plug-ins we use.
We feverishly check how many people are reading Podgamer via WordPress Stats and Google Analytics. They only let us see you as an anonymous aggregated dot on quite a small blue graph. HUMBLING, ISN’T IT.
Our tawdry ads are by Google, but you’ve blocked them anyway.
The mighty Podgamer server logs all visits, including your IP. Occasionally we filter the logs to find interesting places that link to us, but we ignore the IPs because they are not interesting.
If you have any questions about Podgamer and privacy, you can contact us. We will then be amazed someone has read this page.
